Coaches

New Zealand has a proud history of sporting excellence. Excellence in sport requires excellence in coaching.

Quality coaches have a huge impact on their communities. They spend time with New Zealanders, young and old, and have a positive influence on the lives and values of those they come into contact with.

Whats New

 

NZ Coaching Strategy

After extensive consultation with the sector, the New Zealand Coaching Strategy ('Taking Coaching into the Future') was launched in February 2005.

The strategy defines future directions for coaching in New Zealand.

High performance coaches

Find out about coaches in high-performance sport, including the coach carding system, performance enhancement grants (PEGs), and the Prime Minister's scholarship for high performance coaches.

Coach Development Framework

The Coach Development Framework sets the future philosophy and direction for coach development in New Zealand.

It has been developed by a working party to implement the 'coach education and development' tactic of the New Zealand Coaching Strategy.
