Facilitator’s Guide

This Guide describes the Growing Leaders philosophy, values, structure and administration. The Guide also describes some common principles of leadership and includes the Growing Leaders Map which provides the framework for developing a leadership programme and directions for Facilitators to develop young people as empowering leaders.

Growing Leaders learning activities

Learning activities consist of Facilitator’s Notes and Leader Journal templates. The learning activities are allocated to one of the four stages of the programme. Each stage is colour coded: Explore is red, Discover is orange, Navigate is green and Empower is blue. Each learning activity identifies the theme, sub theme, knowledge and skills, and resources required to facilitate the activity.

Growing Leaders learning activity Word templates

Use these templates to create your own Growing Leaders activities. A Word template has been created for each stage. Instructions on how to use the templates are also available.

Growing Leaders certificates

A certificate is awarded to Participants when they successfully complete a stage of Growing Leaders.

Overprinting

Use these instructions and word template if you already have hard copies of Growing Leaders certificates and would like to print Participant names on to them.

Printing

Use these instructions and Word templates if you would like to print Growing Leaders certificates using your own printer and paper/card.

Growing Leaders – Leader ThinkTank

The Leader ThinkTank provides information about leadership and some leadership tools for Facilitators to use to increase their leadership understanding and for facilitating discussion with participants.
