Active Movement DVDs

Watch and learn from SPARC's Active Movement Advisor Gill Connell. Gill recommends activities for children in the different age groups under 5, and shows you how you can get your child moving - and consequently, learning. Series one and two are available.

Play Gym - Building Blocks for Life

The Play Gym resource has been designed for early childhood educators, parents and caregivers of children under five years.

Active Movement in Water

Swimming New Zealand have developed The Active Movement in Water for Early Childhood programme which aims to provide opportunities for under-fives to develop fundamental movement skills and foundation aquatic skills. They also have a programme for Active Movement in Water during Pregnancy and Active Movement at Swimming Pools resource – which include loads of ideas and tips.

Moving to Learn

Gill Connell, of Moving Smart Ltd, and her colleague Robyn Crowe, have written an essential guide for all parents, carers and educators called Moving To Learn.

This book helps make the connection between movement, music, learning and play from birth to 3 years and is in its third print run. The Moving to Learn book is accompanied with a 67 track CD of original songs, rhymes and finger plays.
